What is the difference between traditional and modern calligraphy?

Calligraphy is a traditional form of artistic writing technique that originated in ancient times. It is the art of creating beautiful and decorative handwriting or lettering with a pen or brush. Calligraphy often emphasizes precise and controlled strokes, and the letters are typically formed with a consistent thickness and angle.
On the other hand, modern calligraphy refers to a contemporary style of calligraphy that has gained popularity in recent years and is especially popular for wedding stationery. It deviates from the strict rules of traditional calligraphy and allows for more freedom and creativity. Modern calligraphy often incorporates elements of handwriting and uses a variety of tools such as brush pens, pointed pens, or even markers. It embraces a more relaxed approach to letterforms by experimenting with different styles, sizes, and personal touches.
While traditional calligraphy aims for uniformity and mastery of technique, modern calligraphy encourages individual expression and personal style. The traditional form often adheres to specific scripts such as Copperplate, Spencerian, or Gothic, whereas modern calligraphy may draw inspiration from these scripts but is not restricted to any particular style.
